Today is Monday and I am not at work, again. This is my second Monday in three weeks that I have missed due to being sick. I hope it stops. I feel like crap due to being sick and feeling like a slacker.
I came into town today because my throat is very sore and I just feel generally bad. I also thought I could really get my moneys worth by talking to the doctor about this thing that I have stuck in the bottom of my foot and the weird lump in my armpit.
1. The Throat: A virus. Sleep, drink water, deal with it.
2. The Foot Thing: Maybe it was a splinter, but last night when I jabbed at it with tweezers I caused it to become infected. Antibiotics.
3. Lump in My Armpit: ??? Maybe a boil. Yuck. Maybe something else. The doctor is pretty sure that the foot meds will clear up the lump. If not... we will try again.
I am off to bed. I feel horrible. For the first time since I arrived I really want to be home. I hate being alone and sick.

Sounds like the flu. You'll get over it. Watch the 'lump" though.
Uncle Oak
Listen to Uncle Oak, he made me smile and feel better. See you in
7 weeks.
Kate...Things will go up and down, just do your best to as you said "roll with the punches" things will always get better, It was great to talk to you the other day, Mel was especially happy to hear from you and know everything was going well..Everyone here is good I just got back from a work trip to New Orleans and Tallahassee, the effects of the hurricane are still very visible. Jake and Abby are good, she is now up to about 40lbs but is learning very quickly, she can sit, stay, lay down and knows not to get on the couch or the bed. We are off to Colorado next week (golden Co.) for a long weekend, the hotel we are staying at is .2 miles away from the Coors Brewery and the first night we are staying near the New Belgium Brewery so there will be plenty of Fat Tire...I will try and write more often but things in Knoxville don't change very often, except they are opening a restaurant in the top of the Sunsphere, so next time you visit we will go..Love Matt and Mel
Katie, I enjoyed reading your blog. Mary forwarded it to me (actually to Marsha because I was goofing off yesterday) and I felt badly about you're not feeling too perky. I hope by now you've re-joined the living.
Be careful about storing too much in the fridge though. You don't want to start a mutant strain of bugs that love cold air.
If you have an email chain my address is mark@markdarling.com. If not, keep up the cool blogs and photos.
